Ingredients

Thiamidol

Thiamidol is an active ingredient patented by Eucerin. After 10 years of research and development, this highly effective active ingredient has been clinically and dermatologically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation spots and prevent their reappearance.

Lactic acid

Lactic Acid is a gentle, hydrating exfoliant. Unlike other acids, it dissolves impurities and clogged pores while improving the skin's moisture factor.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic Acid is produced by skin cells and is part of the connective tissue. One of its main functions is to retain moisture: it has the ability to bind between 1,000 and 10,000 times its own weight in water (that is, one gram binds between one and ten liters). As we age, the skin's natural ability to produce Hyaluronic Acid is reduced, and this is when wrinkles begin to form and become more pronounced.

High and low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid
Eucerin uses two different types of Hyaluronic Acid in the Hyaluron-Filler, Hyaluron-Filler Elasticity, Anti-Pigment Dual Serum and Sun Photoaging Control formulas to effectively correct and fill wrinkles from within:

• High molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid (also known as Long Chain Hyaluronic Acid) – remains on the skin’s surface and works to improve hydration of the outermost layer of the epidermis.
• Low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid (also known as Short Chain Hyaluronic Acid) – are molecules 40 times smaller1 than high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid. They penetrate much deeper into the epidermal layers, where they stimulate the skin’s own Hyaluronic Acid production system, restoring moisture to where deep wrinkles originate.

¹Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Moisture Booster combines medium molecular weight (rather than high molecular weight) Hyaluronic Acid with low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid. ²The standard unit for measuring the mass of an atom is a kilodalton (kDa). High molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid has a kDa of 2000, whilst low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid has a kDa of 52.

How it works

As skin ages, it produces less hyaluronic acid and collagen and elastin become depleted. Its structure changes – deep wrinkles form and it starts to sag.
